What mid-sized companies should know about ASEAN
A new internal market was established in 2015 with a free trade agreement between 10 countries: the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in Southeast Asia. It presents both new opportunities and risks for German companies. A factbook commissioned by the client, the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), targeted mid-sized German companies, offering them guidance.
The factbook features numerous facts and figures about the 10 states, portrayed in attractive information graphics. It is a reference book about the economic region of south-east Asia, and it’s also fun to read. In addition, HRI in conjunction with the opinion research institute Forsa conducted a survey among executives in 700 German companies. The survey showed: many executives are convinced that German companies have not adapted their strategy sufficiently to the ASEAN region. In mid-sized companies this was the opinion of 43 percent of interviewees, and in big companies the figure was 49 percent.
