Inclusion barometer
Measuring the extent to which handicapped people are included in the labour market
Project description
Study design
Handicapped people benefit considerably less from the positive tendency on the labour market than people without a handicap. To see just how high the level of inclusion really is, the Handelsblatt Research Institute was commissioned by the charitable organisation “Aktion Mensch” to create an “inclusion barometer.”
On the one hand, the barometer takes into account the results of a survey of some 400 mid-sized companies and 800 handicapped employees, as well as the most recent figures from various sources like the Federal Labour Office.
In 2014 the barometer was measured for a second time, but this time the results were regionalised. And it was shown, for example, that inclusion was less dependent on a region’s prosperity than had been expected.
